NCTP Interns

We are thrilled to have interns here at Nashville Center for Trauma and Psychotherapy who help our practice run smoothly, and provide income dependent fees, serving Nashville with affordable therapy. What!? We know you thought that was impossible!

Our current interns are with us as they complete their master's degrees in counseling.  Supervision will be provided directly by one of our licensed therapists while they are practicing at NCTP. If you are interested in the limited lower fee spots for counseling associated with seeing an intern, let us know in order to be placed on the schedule.

I am passionate about working with couples and families from all walks of life as they face challenges such as relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, major life transitions, or the complexities of grief. I was an art teacher for 13 years and that experience made me realize how unique and interconnected families are, and how important it is to appreciate them as a whole system.

I am currently a student pursuing a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy, and my therapeutic approach is rooted in a narrative lens. I believe that the stories we tell ourselves, and those that society has impressed upon us, often cease to serve us. These narratives can sometimes become restrictive, preventing us from living authentically. Together, we will embark on a journey to re-author your story, crafting a narrative that truly resonates with your authentic self and current aspirations. My goal is to provide a calm, inviting, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and empowered to move toward growth and healing.

Outside of my professional life, I find joy and rejuvenation in a variety of activities. I am an avid traveler, constantly seeking new experiences and perspectives that enrich my understanding of the world. I am also dedicated to lifelong learning, with my two current focuses being guitar and American Sign Language. My garden is another source of peace and creativity and, perhaps a bit uniquely, I have a particular fondness for all things sloths and lavender – two simple pleasures that make me smile.

Whether you’re healing from past hurt, navigating a transition, exploring identity, or seeking deeper meaning, I offer a space that is supportive, engaged, and grounded. My style is warm and direct, balancing curiosity with thoughtful challenge. Growth happens when we learn to sit with discomfort, understand our patterns, and take purposeful action toward the life we want to live.

I work with individuals and relationships of all structures, supporting a wide range of experiences and dynamics. Together, we focus on building awareness and flexibility in how you relate to your thoughts, emotions, and relational patterns -- leaning into life’s messiness while moving toward what truly matters. Relationships can be intentionally shaped to support security, joy, and authenticity for everyone involved.

I understand the nuanced balance between authenticity and societal expectations. I bring presence, engagement, and a genuine commitment to working alongside you, trusting in your inner wisdom and capacity to build meaningful connections and a life that feels intentional and aligned.

As a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern, I bring warmth, curiosity, and a readiness to grow with you. Outside of sessions, I recharge through food adventures, porch coffee, games with my kids, and walks with my husband and dog. I embrace the messy, beautiful work of being human, just like the journey we’ll embark on together.

My aim is to create a safe, non-judgemental collaborative space where we will work on building trust and solving problems together. Each of us has a story, and every story is full of joy and sorrow, valleys and peaks, brokenness and healing. Whatever challenges you are facing, we aren’t wired to face the fear, hurt, and loneliness of life alone. I seek to create a caring and safe space where your story can be shared, honored, and understood. Together, we can explore what might be getting in the way of deeper connection with yourself, with others, and with fullness of life.

As a master’s candidate and counseling intern from Richmont Graduate University, I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you in your journey. Our paths in life do not always go as we expect, and I am deeply committed to supporting you as you navigate life’s twists and turns. While you may not be able to change the events of your story, it is possible to change the way you relate to your story.

My therapeutic approach is compassionate, relational, and collaborative. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, attachment-based perspective, with the understanding that while our pain can often be rooted in relationship, so too can healing flow from a restorative experience in the therapeutic relationship. My hope is that you feel seen, heard, and valued, and that the time we spend together can be a balm for the places you’ve felt most alone.

Prior to my career in therapy, I worked in the construction industry for 15 years, but even then, my heart was as often engaged with the people in the industry as with the projects. These days, my free time is usually spent at a sporting event with my husband, as we watch our four kids, ages 16, 14, 12, and 10, compete in the activities they enjoy. I also love being outdoors, taking our dog Alex for a walk, reading a good book, and catching up with friends on the weekends. I look forward to meeting you, and I am grateful for the opportunity to hear your story.

I approach this work with deep respect for each person’s unique story and the courage it takes to begin the therapeutic journey. As a master’s-level intern therapist from Trevecca Nazarene University, I am passionate about creating a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore your experiences at your own pace.

My therapeutic style is compassionate, relational, and client-centered. I believe in working collaboratively to navigate challenges, build insight, and support your healing and growth. I work with adults and young adults from all backgrounds, and I am committed to practicing with cultural humility, inclusivity, and deep respect for your lived experience.

Some of the areas I’m especially passionate about include life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, women’s issues, relational challenges, body image concerns, trauma, self-compassion, and supporting high achievers and college students facing stress, burnout, or identity exploration. I use an eclectic and integrative therapeutic style, drawing from evidence-based modalities.

My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel grounded, seen, and more connected to yourself. Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or seeking greater self-understanding, I’m here to walk alongside you in your journey toward clarity, resilience, and meaningful change.

I am passionate about supporting people from all backgrounds and ages as they navigate life’s challenges. Whether you’re working through trauma, navigating life transitions, experiencing distress, or trying to understand old patterns that no longer serve you, I’m here for you. I’ll walk alongside you with curiosity, nonjudgment, and care.

If you’re here, you’re already taking a meaningful step toward healing, and that matters. As a counseling intern at Vanderbilt University, I aim to create a compassionate, grounded space where you can feel supported and empowered to grow. My work is rooted in trauma-informed, person-centered, and integrative care. I draw from Brainspotting to support deep processing and nervous system regulation, and I incorporate DBT and CBT skills in a gentle and collaborative way when they feel helpful.

In our work together, you can expect a warm, collaborative environment where your pace, your story, and your autonomy are respected. My hope is that you feel safe, supported, and increasingly connected to who you are becoming and want to be.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy all types of yoga, hiking, traveling, golf, and spending time with close family and friends. If you’re interested in starting therapy or exploring whether we might be a good fit, I would love to connect.

Human existence can feel monotonous, exhausting, and scary. As we move through life, we get stuck in metaphorical holes that we can't dig out of alone--no matter how hard we try. I believe my role as a therapist is climbing down into that hole to meet you; I will grab a shovel and we can get our hands dirty together. Whether you are dealing with relationship concerns, trauma, chronic pain and illness, or feelings of hopelessness, I will meet you where you are and we will walk the path to healing together.

Therapy is hard, but reaching out for help takes immense insight and bravery. By seeking positive change, you have already taken the first step.

I am a master's candidate and Clinical Mental Health Intern studying at Vanderbilt University with previous work experience in crisis counseling, inpatient mental health, and educational consulting for neurodivergent children and teens.

I bring a trauma-informed and identity-affirming lens to my work and seek to ensure every client feels heard, seen, and deeply understood. My style is collaborative, empowering, and humanistic. I incorporate a holistic perspective in my work, considering the impacts of external structures as well as internal experiences on well-being.

I am passionate about working with survivors of sexual trauma, folks with chronic pain and illness, LGBTQIA individuals, couples, neurodivergence, and severe and persistent mental health concerns.

Outside of sessions, I enjoy gardening in my backyard, spending time with my pet dog and bunny, reading fantasy novels, writing short stories, camping, and crafting.

Whether you’re facing relationship conflict, adjusting to a new role, or processing difficult experiences, these moments can be overwhelming, isolating, or simply confusing. Having a place to slow down and reflect can make all the difference. As a Clinical Intern from the University of West Alabama, I consider it a privilege to hold space for clients during such meaningful seasons of life.

Coming from a research background, my therapeutic approach is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and evidence-based practice. I am genuinely interested in understanding each client’s unique experience and working together to identify patterns, clarify what matters most, and move toward more authentic and aligned ways of living. I enjoy working with clients navigating transitions of all kinds, and am especially passionate about working with individuals during the perinatal season and with couples facing relationship challenges.

Outside of session you can find me at a youth sporting event, baking, or on a hike. My current hobbies are crochet and needlepoint, and I am a rookie mahjong player. If you’re ready to make sense of where you’ve been and consider what’s possible next, I’d be honored to walk with you.
